The Wedding Dress: The Fitting

My wedding dress shopping experience was really quite stress-free. I knew once I had found my dress, knew I didn’t need to look any more, and didn’t question my choice once. It was very laid-back and much less organized than Kristine’s shopping experience.
Which was why I was surprised to find myself so nervous for my first fitting.

I remembered we had ordered the dress to *hopefully* fit perfectly, without needing to be taken in. What if it was too tight? I had also ordered a few things different from the original design. What if these requests were over-looked? What if something was forgotten?

These questions hadn’t even occurred to me until the night before my fitting. Two of my bridesmaids were supposed to come with me but, unfortunately, had to cancel the night before. (They live out of town and the weather was too bad for them to drive in).

So here I was, excited but super nervous — and going alone.

It occurred to me that it was silly to be so nervous, but when you’ve spent a chunk of money on something that will be the focus of an important day (and that you will have photos of forever) it’s only natural to be nervous.

Fortunately, there was no need. The wonderful ladies at Luxe Bridal had measured perfectly and remembered all of my little customization requests. (They also did a fantastic job of filling in for my bridesmaids, even though they were super busy).

Tracey from Eco-Tav was on-hand to discuss alterations — expect we didn’t need any. Of course, I still have a few customizations that needed to be done post-ordering so she will be taking care of those. I’m not nervous for that part though. I already know the dress fits!
