Dear bride/groom-to-be,
I know you’re busy with last minute details! Making sure that the menu is set, place cards are made, and that your partner has their attire set for the day. But let’s take a minute to re-focus here.
This day is to be about you, and the planning should too! This is why I’ve gathered you here today to give you a few tips on just keeping calm while the pressure is on.
Take Deep Breaths
This sounds so cliche. I know the last thing you want to hear when you find out that your flower arrangement is going to send you over budget since you were miss-quoted, is to just breathe. We tend to stop doing that helpful thing when we get overwhelmed, and taking small shallow breaths will only deepen your anxieties. So hang up the phone, take a few minutes to breathe and regain your stability before saying anything you might regret.
Eat Balanced Meals
Wedding stress can certainly drive you straight to the nearest fast food chain, but try not to let the cravings win. Instead of just running out of the house with a 100 calorie granola bar, make time for breakfast. Prepping your body with the appropriate amount of energy (and a good balanced meal) will help keep you headstrong through the day.
Do Something
Go for a bike ride, take a kick boxing class, or tackle the mess in the kitchen (you know that’s a work out). Sweating it out is one of the best ways to beat your anxieties. When you feel that you have accomplished something, you always feel better.
Smile
Keeping calm is so easy when you smile. Remember the bigger picture! You are getting married! This is going to be the best day of your life. Use positive reinforcements. Create a collage of your honeymoon destination and put it in a visible place in your home to remind you of the great stress free things to come!
