Wedding registry feature: Meet Alex & Chris
As I was checking out registries last week, I came across Alex and Chris’ wedding registry, and knew I had to feature them!
They added a drill press to their registry! Talk about practical – and exactly what I was talking about in my wedding registry idea post!
Alex got back to me so quickly and was so happy to have me reach out to her, I knew she and Chris were perfect for the blog!
Alex and Chris’ relationship was a “from the neighborhood” kind of love. Chris moved to Ontario from Barbados for school, and moved into a student house beside Alex’s family home where they became good friends and eventually began dating. Besides Chris’ brother, most of Chris’ family still lives in Barbados, which is why they decided to get married there, in Chris’ parents yard (ohmahgawd… if only I had a yard like that).
“We got married on July 7th in the front courtyard of his parents’ home, and had the reception on their lawn. The pictures were taken on the beach near the house, and at his parents’ home. We had such perfect weather for our outdoor, garden-themed wedding.”
They decided to use bright, and vibrant colors to contrast with the beautiful teal tones of the ocean. And it definitely worked! Who says the bridemaids have to wear ugly dresses? Those hot pink dresses are va-va-voom!
Alex made sure to note that the whole night was a great Soca dance party that they will never forget! I would have definitely brought my dance shoes to a wedding like this!
I was so impressed with the practicality of their wedding registry, not only did they add the drill press, but they added a laundry machine, and an e-bike to make Chris’ commute a little easier!
When asked about why they chose Wedding Republic as their wedding registry service, Alex said “We chose to sign up with Wedding Republic because it looked like a smart, fun and personal way to set up a registry. Our registry was mainly centered around tools and large pieces of furniture so we could update items in our home that we inherited from family and friends, and so Chris could start building furniture for our home.”
See ladies, it’s important to include your guy in the registry making process! She continued, saying that Chris loved the registry because he received all the puzzle pieces he asked for towards new tools! What a score for both of them – Chris gets to wood-work, and Alex gets to reap the benefits of having hand-made furniture!
I love this registry, and this couple! Congrats to them on getting married!
